Sleep Dose

Corpi in difficoltà. In totale quiescenza.
E poi, agli antipodi, sono a muoversi forze telluriche.

Wednesday, 4 March, Sleep Dose #159 (Quiescence).

Some of us may have found ourselves in a hospital ward feeling as if we were hanging by a thread, very near of physical and mental collapse; and, if not directly, then at least through someone else. It is as if two spheres were collapsing into each other: this one and the other. Dreams can no longer be distinguished from thoughts. Phantasmagoria induced by super-powerful drugs, sedatives, and everything seems to flow as if in the hands of diligent and busy mechanics, who meticulously adjust valves and control parameters, as in a sophisticated garage. In the background, the sound of warm, humming machines, of medical science embodied in the artificial, trying to keep that thin thread steady. Bodies in distress. In total quiescence.
And then, at the antipodes, telluric forces are moving.

Sleepdose puntata 159

Sleep Dose, a collection of oblique, abstract and mysterious music curated by NigNigNig, fluctuating between soundscapes, psychogeographies, future and past eras and stormy dream states.

Starting from an archive of over fifty thousand tracks, the selection of tracks, determined by a prior use of tags, follows a random pattern. The result is a playlist arbitrarily limited to a maximum of 23 tracks; each playlist is then randomly mixed and reprocessed through the use of effects.

The sequence of song titles creates involuntary forms of automatic poetry, offering moments of unpredictable lyricism and narrative coherence… as well as the flow of our personal dream world, not only during sleep.
