Mercoledì 17 dicembre, Sleep Dose #151 (Più Sottile Di Un Capello).
Non sapevo se sarei riuscito ad arrivare a farne cinquanta, ed invece ecco, addirittura, la 150, ed ora anche la 151! Che sia dunque uno spettacolo, come un film denso di mistero, di crude sorprese, di paesaggi da scrutare con lo spirito degli occhi.
I film importanti sono da vedersi e ascoltarsi imprescindibilmente nel buio immersivo di una sala cinematografica, avvolti dal volume di un Dolby surround coi controcazzi, esattamente come mi è accaduto a Cannes lo scorso settembre, dove ho, tardivamente, scoperto il cinema di Oliver Laxe grazie alla sua opera più recente: Sirât.

Wednesday 17 December, Sleep Dose #151 (Thinner Than a Hair).

I didn’t know if I would manage to reach fifty episodes, but here we are, at 150, and now even 151! May it be a spectacle, like a film full of mystery, raw surprises, and landscapes to be scanned with the spirit of the eyes. Every important movie it must be seen and heard in the immersive darkness of a cinema, enveloped by the volume of Dolby surround, just as I experienced in Cannes last September, where I discovered Oliver Laxe’s cinema through his most recent work: Sirât.

Sleep Dose, a collection of oblique, abstract and mysterious music curated by NigNigNig, fluctuating between soundscapes, psychogeographies, future and past eras and stormy dream states.

Starting from an archive of over fifty thousand tracks, the selection of tracks, determined by a prior use of tags, follows a random pattern. The result is a playlist arbitrarily limited to a maximum of 23 tracks; each playlist is then randomly mixed and reprocessed through the use of effects.

The sequence of song titles creates involuntary forms of automatic poetry, offering moments of unpredictable lyricism and narrative coherence… as well as the flow of our personal dream world, not only during sleep.
