Mentre invochiamo la gentilezza del crepuscolo, aspettando di tornare a casa e mangiare con i nostri cari davanti alla stufa, le nostre orecchie si abituano ai giochi della notte. Cullate da atmosfere nebbiose e punteggiate da crepitii, ci sono voci a dare forma ad un momento di fragilità.
Apro un libro misterioso; una lunga serie di curiose metamorfosi grafiche, come un’enciclopedia scritta in una grafia indecifrabile. Un alfabeto asemico che non trascrive alcuna lingua esistente o immaginaria.
Mi affaccio alla finestra e sporgo l’orecchio: un contrabbasso torturato, solitario e viscerale, suona, fino ad essere fatto pezzi, smontato in ogni sua parte. Si esce, allora, catturati da tanta perizia, accarezzati dalla tiepida aria notturna.
E poi, all’improvviso, un’esplosione squarcia tutto. È una notte d’aprile, a Marsiglia.
Basta davvero poco per essere bersaglio dell’inaudito caso.

As we invoke the kindness of twilight, waiting to return home and eat with our loved ones in front of the stove, our ears become accustomed to the sounds of the night. Lulled by misty atmospheres and punctuated by crackling noises, voices give shape to a moment of fragility. I open a mysterious book; a long series of curious graphic metamorphoses, like an encyclopedia written in indecipherable handwriting. An asemantic alphabet that does not transcribe any existing or imaginary language. I look out of the window and listen: a tortured, solitary, visceral double bass plays until it is torn to pieces, dismantled in every part. We go outside, captivated by such skill, caressed by the warm night air.
And then, suddenly, an explosion tears through everything. It is an April night in Marseille.
It takes very little to be the target of an unpredicted event.
